This Privacy Policy describes how adop.tools ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the free ad operations calculators, guides, and articles at adop.tools ("the Site"). We are based in New Zealand.
adop.tools is a static website. It has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no backend database of our own. The related reporting product is operated separately at clearly.report and has its own privacy policy.
1. Information stored on your device
The numbers you type into the calculators are saved in your browser's localStorage so they are still there when you return. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for adop.tools.
2. Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Site is used in aggregate: page views, session counts, and general feature usage. No personally identifiable information is sent to GA4 beyond what Google collects automatically (IP address, browser type, approximate location). You can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
3. Advertising
The Site displays ads served by Google AdSense, which funds the free calculators. Google and its partners may use cookies to personalise ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings, and learn more in Google's advertising policies. Depending on your region, Google may show a consent prompt before serving personalised ads.
4. Third parties
Loading the Site involves the following third-party services:
- Google LLC — Analytics (GA4) and AdSense, as described above. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the Site (Cloudflare Pages) and serves all pages and assets. Cloudflare processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent) to deliver and secure the Site. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Content delivery networks — some page assets (styling and utility scripts) load from public CDNs (cdn.tailwindcss.com, cdn.jsdelivr.net), which see standard request metadata when your browser fetches those files.
- Buy Me a Coffee — an optional support widget loads from cdnjs.buymeacoffee.com. If you choose to support us through it, your interaction is governed by Buy Me a Coffee's privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we hold no database of visitor data ourselves.
5. Cookies
adop.tools sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies as described in Sections 2 and 3.
6. Your rights
Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. In practice we hold none: calculator inputs stay on your device, and analytics data is aggregate. For anything else, contact us at the address below.
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
